Stuffed Calamari | How To Video

Stuffed foods are great for entertaining, they are typically pretty easy to make but look very impressive! Danny Arturo, Certified Italian Chef & executive chef here at Village Super Markets shared one of his all time favorites with us, Stuffed Calamari! You can stuff it with anything that your heart, or guests desire, from cheese to mushrooms to rice & even chorizo. For this dish Chef used a crabmeat stuffing. (Get the recipe here)

  • Start with fresh cleaned squid from your seafood department. Ideally 5-8 count of the tubes andStuffed Calamari tentacles
  • Roll your crabmeat stuffing or pipe it into the tubes. Don’t overstuff them! The squid will shrink while it cooks and will pop open if overstuffed. About 1 – 1.5 oz per calamari works well
  • Add legs (tentacles) to stuffing and close the end with a toothpick
  • Poach stuffed calamari in tomato sauce over high flame for 5-7 minutes
  • Remove calamari and set aside on a plate. Continue to reduce tomato sauce
